Last Saturday, Marcus Smart, a 19-year-old Oklahoma State player, shoved a fan (as in perfect attendance fanatic) named Jeff Orr, a 52-year-old who apparently chooses to devote his time and money to closely following Texas Tech basketball, which is played by kids.
There are tons of Jeff Orrs. I dont get it, and the more I see it and its everywhere the less I get it. There are thousands of otherwise well-adjusted adults who just cant get close enough to college basketball teams. They begin to pant; their hearts go pitter-patter.

While we will never know what was said by Orr, ESPN did show another incident where Orr was seen on video flipping the bird at opposing players. So Mr. Orr is no saint.
Not to be confused with the BLACK term of endearment N-Word-A?
Orr called Smart “a piece of crap” certainly not acceptable, but not a racist term. Smart lied about Orr calling him the nuclear “n...word” which can only be used by Blacks.
This part I do agree with and goes for college football as well. Get a life people! Geeze......
Flame away!
The Sam part of this column is interesting. Sex in football locker rooms? Only when a pedophile catches a vulnerable youth alone. I would keep my children away from the football program in that small town in Texas where Sam is from.
Damn it... having trouble keeping up with all this crap... let me get a pen and paper... hold on.... just... a... okay, now, where were we?
Um, yes, “t-word”? what’s a “t-word”?
A racist wouldn’t be that big into basketball.
So...uh...where was all the outrage for Mississippi State’s black head basketball coach telling the white Ole Miss player, Marshall Henderson, “F**K YOU!!!” after Ole Miss beat Mississippi State two weeks ago????
I think Texas Tech should do the prudent move and make sure their “#1 fan” is nowhere near the floor, nor within ear-shot of any player. Grow up Orr.
I know, I know. ..who is Richard Sherman & why should I care?
“Thug”, maybe?
There needs to be a lot more distance between the players and the audience. College basketball is one in particular where the crowd is just too close to the playing field. Give the players room to be players.
