Even if the area had already been covered by the family, wouldn’t it have been prudent to check again? A presumably distraught family member may not notice every clue.

One would think so especially since the family had been holding fundraisers and raised over $25,000 to pay for their search effort.

I am curious as to whether it is a LARGE tract of land? It sounds like it is sort of a suburb area. Seems like any homeowners in the near proximity would have also searched their own properties?

True, it often seems that bodies are found in areas that were initially presumed to have already been covered by someone else.
