I think all Brits are obsessed with being as historically accurate as possible-which is why I like their books and shows about bygone times-I’m not really into magic tricks and dragons with history.

Most of his books are based on historical fact, and he adds a little known historical character whose biography he has filled out as a narrator-the ones I’m reading now-a series about the times of Alfred the Great-have pages at the end explaining the events portrayed in the book, every place the author has deviated from the facts, and why he did so-talk about pedantic...
