Chevrolet says a fire in the trunk, which contains a purpose-built auxiliary electrical kit to operate the numerous caution lights during the race, is to blame for the pace car bursting into flames during Saturday night's exhibition race at Daytona International Speedway.

So ALL the prior years in ALL the prior Pace cars that weren't a SMOLDER (pronounced volt) that had ALL the same lighting including back before LED’s & Micro circuitry cut the draw MASSIVELY on the system and Chevy blames everything else.

Yep, never mind all the charger fires...

BTW I've spent 18 years selling parts and 12 years in Automotive repairs so it's not like I'm a Rookie at electrics.
