Why does he need publicity?

When you're Joe Nobody and you try to sell a crap painting, you don't get much.

When you're a celebrity and you try to sell a crap painting, you get big coin.

The more he keeps his name in the news, the more his art is worth. Not the way I would make a living, but it's legal and it works. Sometimes quite well.

George Zimmerman is still 2 million dollars in debt.

Maybe 1.8 million after the two paintings.

I think celebrity is his only angle for paying off so much.

DMX not just a idiot but a dangerous idiot.

On October 11, 1999, he was arrested for a##aulting a police officer while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The officer need 13 stitches in his head. That is a COP who knows how to fight.

n June 2004, he was arrested at JFK airport on charges of cocaine possession, criminal impersonation, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal mischief, menacing, and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol while attempting to carjack a vehicle claiming to be a federal agent.[12]
In April 2005, Simmons was arrested in The Bronx for driving with a suspended license after his car crashed into a police cruiser. He opened fire on the cruiser before speeding off and crashing into a telephone pole.[citation needed]

In October 2006, Simmons was arrested in Boston after severely injuring 4 armed men just hours after Monster Jam. The charges were dropped after it was discovered he was acting in self defense.

I’m a Karate Black Belt, and I don’t think I could severely injure 4 armed men, give a Cop 13 stitches.

This is a tough guy who must have some real fight experience and some good fighting skills. He has quite the Rap sheet.

I just think there are folks who are out to get him any way they can — Eric Holder, etc., and GZ seems to be out in the public eye a lot. He doesn’t have to take my advice. And I suppose if he were doing what he is doing for the Lord, my answer would also be different.

I simply don’t believe those Wikipedia entries and think someone has embellished the stories to help DMXs rap career. I don’t believe that someone who assaults a police officer and “opens fire” on a police cruiser wouldn’t do serious jail time. And, from what I can tell, DMX has only done short stints for things like driving without a license and drug possession.

As far as him severely injuring others, are you sure those weren’t his bodyguards or entourage that he simply felt like abusing while in a drunken stupor? Or, is it just another story told to further his rap career?

The truth is he’s a typical cowardly thug. He’s also addicted to drugs, an alcoholic, and chain smoker. I doubt he could fight his way out of wet paper bag.
