It’s hard to believe there isn’t anybody growing coffee shrubs in America. Can it be that hard?

They grow coffee in America (the continents), but there are few locations in the USA that are within the so-called coffee belt, Hawaii being the only US state producing it commercially in viable quantities. It’s not impossible to grow it in the contiguous 48 states, but the flavor may not be the same and it may be hard to get the plant to produce fruit. (The coffee “cherry” is edible too.)

Ya think geography might have something to do with it? There aren't a lot of banana plantations in the U.S., either.
