I had occasion to read a bit about recovered memory when I was gathering some info for a paper my daughter was working on. Recovered memory belongs squarely in scare quotes; any shrink worth his salt can brainwash anyone who submits to psychoanalysis into believing just about anything. Memory is simply to ephemeral.
I also, subsequently, saw my mothers memory degrade under the onslaught of Alzheimers - and I saw how she became certain of things which simply couldnt have been much farther from the truth. Spooky.
So if any of the evidence in the trial had anything to do with "recovered memory," to that extent I would have rejected it out of hand if I had been on the jury.
I’m glad you found the interview informative. Thanks. You are a rarity here - one who actually reads or listens to the presented facts before making 6th grade jokes.
