1,154,000 fewer Americans are working today than six years ago, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In January 2008, 146,378,000 Americans 16 and over were employed, and now in January 2014, 145,224,000 are employed, a difference of 1,154,000.

LOL! Thanks for sharing that ray of sunshine.
Job-Lock ping!
And apparently she’s upset with wind bag billy boy o’really’s “disrespect” shown to the “lyin’ king” during the pre seahawks showed up, broncos didn’t football game interview. He showed a lot more constraint than I would have. I guess that’s why he make the big bucks working for Fox and I don’t.
Boom, shacka job locka. Boom shacka job locka.
That’s a get down melody in there somewhere...
I was reading on hotair that from January 2013 to January 2014 there were 1.9 million new jobs created but 2.2 million new unemployed. A net loss of 300k jobs. So that’s about the average. Of course the unemployment rate drops due to the unemployed running out of bennies and no longer counting in the labor force.
I’m not a graphics person, but someone should design a nice political cartoon showing Obamacare’s falling dominoes —
The first 2 or 3 falling dominoes are labeled “went Part Time to obtain subsidies”
and the ones not yet fallen labeled, “about to pay more Taxes for Partimers subsidies.”
Perhaps even something in honor of our Tyrant-in-Chief, something to memorialize his many Executive Orders (now being commanded by Sheliah Jackass Lee, the brilliant black congresswoman noting our planting the American flag on Mars?).
Actually, if Obama's many speeches could be set to a video, with a musical background and include his many "selfless," why this could even earn our "Star" an Oscar in time for his likeness being added to Mt. Rushmore!
What brilliance, I'm just overcome with joy knowing my fellow Americans are experiencing this "extra time off" just in time for Johnny Boehner and his minions in Congress to sweep in and save these and soon to be out-of-work "scholars and composers" from having to bust a sweat by granting Amnesty to millions already here working at those jobs that the White House, Congress and now the GOP are celebrating!
"Like your country, maybe we'll let you keep it, on second thought, nah!"
And 2,000,000 more are on the same path thanks to Obamacare!
I seem to remember someone arguing that the folks running out and no longer on the long term unemployment didn’t factor in. I think their logic and reasonable argument basically was: “Nuh uh!” I didn’t get into the: “Is so. Is not” battle. ;>}
Obama has fundamentally transformed America and freed these Americans from job lock (and from accomplishment, independence, and setting a positive example for their families). That is change - as promised.
Impeach Obama in 2014, PERIOD.
Collecting, or not collecting, unemployment compensation has no bearing on how the unemployment rate is calculated.
That 145 million IS NOT the number of PEOPLE employed. It is the number of JOBS held. The number of full-time salaried jobs held is about 27 million.
Does that count legitimate retirees? If so, they should be subtracted from the total to give us an honest assessment of the situation. After all, we are not RATs (who won’t even count those who have given up looking for work as unemployed).
Many of them are now on disability retirement from the Obama Regime.
Heard some back and forth last night about the “lost” jobs/hours due to the aca. The opponent kept saying something about “100’s of millions of jobs”. WHAT? Where does this guy get his info? I guess I musta forgot that reduced hours and reduced pay is apparently a good thing. HUH? And these white house asshats spokesmodels can actually stand there and state this crap with straight faces.
