Apple probably couldn’t monetize the bitcoin transactions so they removed it. If they don’t get their cut you can’t play. Yep. That's why you can't buy books on the Amazon Kindle app on an Apple device - Amazon didn't want to give 30% off the top of every sale to Apple. So now you have to use the web browser to buy a book and Apple gets nothing.
