Do you want a desktop, or does it matter.
When in the US, I made my own desktops, but when I went international, a laptop was the only practical choice.
I am on the same Toshiba laptop that I bought in Slovakia in 2007. In the last few years while here in the Philippines, I took in another Toshiba laptop from a cash strapped guy. I also took in a Dell laptop from another expat that needed money. My wife and child use it. My ISP provided me with a Wi-Fi router, so we have unlimited connections to the internet.
I use an external keyboard with all laptops.

You're on the outskirts of a tourist area (I think) ... do you have ISP service at your home?
How prevalent is ISP in the Ph ?
What does it cost ?
