I certainly did not mean to cast asparagus upon the fair face and form of that paragon of feminine virtue, Ms. Amanda. In fact, I am surely glad she eventually won her appeal in that rather idiosyncratic justice system and was released from durance vile in plenty of time for the riots.
However, I shall remain convinced that Ms. Amanda, as guilty or innocent as she may be, did not download the full story, i.e., did not let us in on the details she may have known or not known of her roomie's demise.
However, one should look at the bright side. She went to Italy to learn Italian, and learn it she did while accepting room and board from the Eyetie Gov. Neither was it some dry classroom version of the lingo, but a far more spicy and pungent version. Ms. Amanda, should perhaps view it as a sort of scholarship.
BTW, were I she, I would tend to avoid any planned trips to that certain boot-shaped Mediterranean country of your forebears.
I follow that advice myself. My people left for a reason and my parents whose parents came here learned very little italian as their parents said “this is America we speak English now”. Unlike my 2nd generation born here Puerto Rican sister in law whose English is atrocious and believes she needs to keep her “culture”.
In the second trial, the prosecution completely abandoned their original theory of the case, which was the violent “sex game” explanation.
In the first trial, the primary witness against Knox, Rudy Guede, completely changed his original story to police.
He received a 14 year reduction in his sentence (eligible for release in 2014), AFTER Knox and her boyfriend were convicted.
Finally, in the current trial, the judge has ONLY released his verdict.
He can wait 90 days before releasing the rationale behind his decision!
