I thought both Doritos commercials were great -- the time machine, and the dog/cowboy.

Also loved the Radio Shack ad -- "the '80s called, they want their stores back."

Liked the Budweiser spot featuring the dog and the Clydesdales; ditto for the Chevy spot with the stud bull being delivered to his new harem, to the tune of “You Sexy Thing” by Hot Chocolate.

Overall, this was one of the lamest groups of Super Bowl commercials in history. Lots of companies will be looking for new ad agencies tomorrow.

Cheerios!

and all the ones with horses, dogs, the American flag, and war heroes!

(My theory: Budweiser is all of a sudden not about babes and boobs anymore, but patriotism, because they are pitching to the over 50 crowd. Now that pot is becoming legal everywhere, beer sales will go down among the under-50 gang. Bud has a newer, older market.)

Bob Dylan doing the Chrysler add was a shock. I'll bet a lot of pinkos feel sold out that he's schilling for a (perceived as) American capitalist company.

Not a great crop of commercials, but then it was a little noisy where I was. I did like the dog and the Clydesdales (but then I always like the Clydesdales) and the Doritos commercial in the same break, with the Lone Ranger theme.

The shame of it was that many people were no longer watching by that point.

So was it, or was it not, “pajama boy” hugging Bruce Willis?

At first I thought, yes. Then... no. No way. But then... was it? (can’t remember what the commercial was FOR, so regardless, it was bad).

I almost always change the channel when any program goes to commercial. A habit I picked up years ago for obvious reasons.

But the one I did see with the Matrix guy Morphius (Fishburn) was pretty good. Even Agent Smith got a few seconds in there.

Also loved the Radio Shack ad -- "the '80s called, they want their stores back."

being that i am a sucker for the 80s, this was my favorite... overall, i did not enjoy this year's commercials... i usually come away with a handful that i like, but not this year... i did like the puppy love Budweiser commercial and the homecoming Budweiser commercial...

I preferred the Lone Ranger Doritos ad to the puppy-Clydesdale only because Bud has become more and more cloying with that series of ads. The soldier homecoming was Bud’s best.

Scarlett Johansson’s turn for the Soda Machine was the most unexpected, knowing what a left-wing nut bag she is. Still, she got major props for standing up to the Oxfam group-think clan and standing FOR Israel. She’s still largely a left-wing nut bag, but it proves that they can learn...
