First heard that on Dr Demento October 24, 1982 http://www.bing.com/search?setmkt=en-US&q=dr+demento+what+it+was+was+football
Great skit.”Hamlet” was another great thing he did.Too bad he was just another showbiz supporter of OsamaObamaCare at the end.
Around 1953 I was six and Andy Griffith was appearing at the Dixie Sherman Hotel in Panama City. The local radio station played a few of his performances.
One was Romeo and Juliet and another was the football one. I think there were a couple more but can’t remember them.
You know, for my entire life, when I’d run across an old “Andy Griffith Show” on television, I’d invariably leave it on and watch it. Even the color ones, with Emmett and Howard Sprague. The show was a fixture.
But ever since Griffith did that Obamacare endorsement, I just haven’t been able to bring myself to watch a single minute of the series. I knew for ages that Griffith was both a lib and a miserable cuss in real-life, but it wasn’t until he got in bed with Obama that I just couldn’t stomach it anymore.
We had this on 45 rpm when I was a kid. Hilarious.
STILL FUNNY!
Was being the key word. Now it’s just a train wreck.
Didn't Andy have a story about 'carrying 50 pound sacks of sugar into the woods' as his first job?
I never heard him do stand up before, and in a minute, I knew I was listnin’ t’Will Rogers re-incarnated.
