A head-to-head race with a 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51 reveals that the executive sedan's performance as well as its powertrain is electric.
On paper there shouldn't be any doubt. The current Corvette is one of the fastest homegrown production cars currently on sale in the US. It boasts a 0-60mph (100km/h) time of 3.8 seconds and over 400hp on tap for when needs arise.

Thats why I asked about the ET. I will bet anyone that the vett beat him, twice.
Looking at the time slips begs some questions.
Race one left lane tesla ET 12.393@ 110.50
rt lane Vette ET 12.029@ 116.93
Race two left lane tesla ET 12.378@ 110.32
rt lane Vette ET 12.049@ 118.18
The slips show up at around the 1:47 mark. I ain’t no math genius, but it looks to me based on the slips the vette won both times. Maybe I got the lanes wrong. On one slip it says right lane won. On the other one it says the left lane won. In either case, I’d take the vette.
The vette was the faster car. But the tesla got the hole shot on the first round. Now if the Tesla jumped the gun on the yellow as some here are saying, the light should have showed red and he would have been disqualified.
Yup. If you follow the tree lights (I’m assuming they were in sync for both lanes) you’ll see that when the last yellow for the right lane is still lit the tesla leaves. Never saw a red light but it sure looked like he left a skoosh early to me. Since it wasn’t a “real” race, maybe the red didn’t come on. Maybe the should have done it like the finals. Staged, one yellow, green. Gotta be on your toes when the yellow starts to fade, you go. Carefully.
I am thinking that the standard tires on the cars might have had something to do with it. I dunno. But he sure got a hole shot there.
One other. I wonder what the tire pressure was on the vette the first round. I would have dropped the pressure and got more rubber on the track.
If you put it on full screen and look at the timeslips shown at the end of the vid, you can see the driver “reaction time” was 3 tenths SLOWER for the Vette. Huge hole shot.
In drag racing, that’s forever.
