A former TSA officer has confirmed many of the worst suspicions about airport security screeners: they stop passengers for having an attitude, they confiscate snow globes from children and nail clippers from pilots, they profile passengers based on their nationality.
And yes, they do see travelers naked in the X-ray photos.
...
I confiscated jars of homemade apple butter on the pretense that they could pose threats to national security. I was even required to confiscate nail clippers from airline pilotsthe implied logic being that pilots could use the nail clippers to hijack the very planes they were flying, he wrote.
One of the most coveted rotations while he worked at Chicagos OHare airport while Harrington worked there from 2007 through 2013 was the secretive Image Operator room where guards took turns sitting in the windowless room- that also lacked security cameras- viewing the pictures of passengers that the x-ray machines took.
Many of the images we gawked at were of overweight people, their every fold and dimple on full awful display. Piercings of every kind were visible. Women whod had mastectomies were easy to discerntheir chests showed up on our screens as dull, pixelated regions. Hernias appeared as bulging, blistery growths in the crotch area, he wrote in the Politico article.
All the old, crass stereotypes about race and genitalia size thrived on our secure government radio channels.
The I.O. room turned into its own experiment in explicit behavior as agents would use it as a secret meeting point for mid0-work rendez-vous since the lack of security cameras kept them from being busted.
The TSA issued a statement in response to MailOnline, saying: 'Many of the TSA procedures and policies referenced in this article are no longer in place or are characterized inaccurately.'

TSA...degenerate union goons without a useful purpose.
Well, just have the TSA investigate itself. Problem solved. It’s the Obama way.
Yep. It never ceases to amaze me that the Obama Admin can NEVER find any wrongdoing/criminality no matter how many investigations they conduct on themselves! /s
No one ever gets fired or called to account in any way. They don’t get as much as a stern talking-to!
I have a friend who used to be a senior TSA guy who worked the DFW area, both DFW and Love Field...
He is a shooting enthusiast like me and we chat about issues on another website...So as far as I am concerned he is on the level when we have discussed ALL the issues pertaining to the TSA and his position there in that organization...
Nothing here surprises me, and it would not surprise him either...That being said, it is imperative that we the people keep up our vigilant observations and experiences with these sub-standard government employees...No matter where, or who they are...
If only EVERYONE who has an experience, wither good or bad were to document and or report these behaviors...We might really make an impact on the way it hires and fires people in the future...
If it is allowed to roll right over people, then NOTHING will be done...
The trick...
Even if it doesn’t happen to you, if you observe someone else being hassled, or given additional scrutiny for no real reason, then I would get as much info as possible and report it...
Everyone needs to step up to the plate and take a swing...
These aren’t “federal” agents, they really are “feral” agents.
At some point, they will lose their sugar daddy godfather, and they will have to answer to the public that they abused.
You WILL see a river of tears wide enough and deep enough to water all of Californication.
OR take a ship or boat, possibly a motorcycle or moped, anything but a plane.
You get my point, no more turds.
The agents follow orders to keep their jobs. The problem is the organization, itself, not the employees. They have little discretion.
Abolish the TSA [another issue the GOP could lead on, but won't].
A R after their name does not make them any different than having a D.
Yet we vote like it does.
They learned from the police that there's a relatively high incident of isolated incidents
required before the public begins to lose their trust.
That, and they probably read my brochure:
Stop, Drop, and Cower

Ah, but there is a useful purpose: conditioning.
Just think what would have happened if the procedures/techniques used today were put in-place prior to 11 Sep.
What do you think the airline bail-out right after 11 Sep was really about?
I forgot all about the airline bailout - just as all the bailouts, root cause/problems go ignored
We up here in the frozen North have a choice. Three or four hour flight from Anchorage to Seattle, or a 6 day drive. Add an extra hour for the flight from Fairbanks.
Well, you certainly don’t have much of a choice, and I can understand why you take flights. It’s the vast number of people who are willing to be groped and otherwise treated like naughty children so as to save a little time, those are the ones who puzzle me.
Luckily, I have no need or desire to ever take a flight again, and I won’t.
“If you have bad apples, make apple butter.”
"Are we going to have to visit these masturbatory conduct allegations again?"
TSA:
Literally, Bush’s fault.
Yea this sounds like how I was treated.
They are clearly under orders to try and get people upset so they can slap the cuffs on you.
My yahoo pulled me out of the line for a wand probe. I lifted my arms and he says “I didn’t tell you to lift your arms”
