So I was looking at some good date movies out to take my girlfriend to tonight.. and I've really been wanting to see Lone Survivor.
BUT.. I read the reviews and it sounds like there is a lot of cussing and grapic-ness.
Maybe more of a movie you'd go see with some dudes. But taking a girl.. maybe not.
Any other recommendations??
Gimme Shelter is an excellent idea! Although I usually recommend romantic comedies for early dates, with this movie you can go out for ice cream or drinks afterwards, talk about the movie, and find out if you share the same values (i.e. abortion, faith, and faith in action). No point continuing to date if you don’t share the same ideals.
Lone Survivor could be a good date movie, depending on your date and the status of your relationship...I went with my husband last week and spent a lot of the time with my eyes buried in his shoulder - and of course Marky Mark is always a plus.... :)
Saving Mr. Banks then rent Mary Poppins.
Actually, a great stay-at-home “movie” is Going Postal, available at iTunes.
Near as I can tell, Will Farrell is a guy thing that I'll just never understand.
Yes. Well acted but a downer of a story that they take forever to end. Everyone raves about June Squibb but I found her character to be annoying.
Batting cage, indoors. - see if she can hit - tell her it’s a deal breaker if she hits into a double play
You sound like a good guy! I have no suggestions, as I never go to the movies, but I hear Saving Mr. Banks is good. Hope you and the young lady find a movie you both enjoy, and have a wonderful time!
Here’s lookin’ at you, kid.
thats it. she will love it.
My wife of many years, was shaken up to the max by the violence and realism in “Lone Survivor.”
War is hell, and she has seen plenty of violent films. But this one hit her extra hard.
Book Thief is excellent, but not sure it’s still out - or out on video yet.
You must be young if you have to make a movie decision by asking what’s appropriate for a woman.
Women are different—— so ask her.
.
Aw Thanks!!!
Did she shoot better than you did?
Oh come now, I really enjoyed “Elf”.
I agree... Walter Mitty was a very good date movie.
She said all the later shows were packed because Lone Survivor was a popular date movie.
I kind of liked him in "The Campaign", but for the most part I don't find him funny. My boyfriend, on the other hand, laughed himself sick at the "Anchorman" sequel that came out recently.
Hmmm interesting!
