Listen, I’m not invested in this argument. What ti says makes intuitive sense to me. If that’s her department’s policy, if that’s what they designate on the death certificate as cause of death I assume it’s been signed off on by whatever policy maker.
Honesty is best. Our trainer is a paramedic who teaches at the local college. He taught us that the word “overdose” is a misnomer and confuses folks. ANY dose of heroin or cocaine can kill the first time it’s taken. People need to know the illegal street products can be cut with anything. Meth is notorious for the crap in it. All of it is deadly, that is WHY it is illegal. Take that stuff and risk your life every time. That is the message.
