Ran calls tonight covering for a fellow squad member. We had another 20 something CPR. Similar to the last one. Took a lot out of me. I need to sleep in in the morning, so I am posting this tonight. Heroin cut with fentanyl. Nasty deadly stuff. It’s in the area, the hospital staff said they are seeing a lot of it. No autopsy yet, but that is the assumed cause at this point. So sad, a four year old little boy asking why daddy isn’t getting up. Heartbreaking.
Came home after midnight with puke all over the front of me. Yeah, charming, I know. Airway is a dirty job.
At the debrief we explained to the newbies that it is not an “overdose”, but illegal drugs. All the EMTs were in agreement, so there SD.
Heroin cut with fentanyl! Those people are desperately hooked ... and stupid.
You are doing the job that few people could possibly endure. God bless and keep you, dearest tioga.
Imprecation is the name of a heavy metal band based in a town where I once lived — Missouri City, TX.

Maybe they are nice fellows, but their pictures look like the sort of folks who might be involved in your heroin trade. (BTW we are having the same problem in this county. In fact, County officials held a ‘heroin’ summit in conjunction with the Republican Party on Wednesday night this week. I didn’t go, since I didn’t think that I had anything to add.)
Thanks for thinking to post last night. Hope you can rest today.
I don’t know why there was disagreement over this. Overdose, in common parlance, indicates too much of something. This was not too much, this was an illegal substance specifically created by mixing two things together. They didn’t take too much of it, it was a deadly mixture.
I hope you get some needed rest today.
Heroin, is a nasty thing....because of the small amounts in which it kills.
Not in the category of lesser items that should be decriminalized.
That’s the stuff. The police have set up a special hotline for tips on it. In bags marked “Theraflu,” “Bud Ice” or “Income tax.”
Oh Ti, how heartbreaking - I hope your community knows how lucky they are to have volunteers who do what you do! Nurses and paramedics get paid to do that but you fill a void for your neighbors. I hope you get some rest today
