I have no idea whether it’s connected but I twice received emails in my inbox from “Yahoo!”, very authentic looking asking me to click a link to confirm my account. The email was addressed to “Dear User” rather than my name which is what Yahoo! usually use so I deleted it without clicking the link. I suspect many users did not and it may be related to this story.

I didn't get an e-mail from Yahoo! but I did get a text message from an unidentified number giving me a "Yahoo verification code." I have never given Yahoo that phone number, so I disregarded the message.

Does anyone else get spam text messages?
