Amanda Knox was found guilty of murder today by an Italian court, the latest twist in a murder case that goes back to 2007.
The verdict reached by the two judges and six jurors came after several hours of deliberations at the Florence courthouse.
The judge sentenced Knox to 28 years in prison. Her former Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito and co-defendant was sentenced to 25 years.
Two Italian judges and six jurors began deliberations earlier today. If Knox and her former Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito are found guilty, the court is also expected to pronounce a prison sentence.
The prosecutor has asked for a 26 prison term for the murder for Knox and Sollecito, plus another four years for Knox on a related libel conviction.
This is the fourth time Knox faced a verdict on the 2007 murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher while they were roommates in Perugia, Italy. Knox, now 26, and Sollecito, 29, were convicted in 2009.
After serving four years in prison they were freed in 2011 when an appeals court threw out the murder conviction. But Italy's supreme court ordered another appeals court to rehear the case. Kercher's sister Stephanie and brother Lyle were in the courtroom for the verdict.
Knox, who is sporting a new, short haircut, remained in her hometown of Seattle for the latest trial. Sollecito was in court today earlier today, but was not present for the verdict....

My understanding is that he is due for work release this year.
So he must have made some kind of deal with the prosecutor to implicate those people who disturbed his dump.
Correct. I meant NO Double Jeopardy.

When did he give that excuse?
Well the first trial the prosecutor claimed that she killed Kerchner in a drug-induced orgy —
He abandoned that this time claiming instead that she killed her because she didn’t flush the toilet.
It turns out that it was Rudy who didn’t flush the toilet and that did him in.
Where is Peter Sellers when they need him.
<>When did he give that excuse?<>
Here:
Guede lied repeatedly throughout the case, modifying his stories, based on news reports as it best suited his defense. Guede was recorded during a Skype conversation before his arrest telling a friend that the reports on the news were incorrect. He said Amanda Knox was not present the night the crime took place. After his arrest Guede realized he had no way out and repeatedly modified his story to help his own defense.
His latest story suggests he was being intimate with Meredith in her room when he suddenly needed to use the bathroom. While he was in the bathroom Amanda and Raffaele came in and murdered Meredith.

Eric Holder is vile Black KKK racist....he would do everything possible to send that white girl back to Italy. And you can bet if she was Black...Holder and Obama would be calling Italy “racist”
I have no doubt about that. I just want to know if you have Hellfire missiles? (Heading for cover)
I think they will just continue with what they have been doing for decades, just picking us off one or two at a time.
You sound like Nancy Grace. And, wrong, like Nancy Grace
Knox was already ACQUITTED by a higher court. This second trial is DOUBLE JEOPARDY, and not recognized in the US, or most other Western nations, even those who do not use our Common Law system
I think so too. And we’ll fight back the same way, as soon as we get all the dopes to figure out there’s a low-level war going on. One Trayvon at a time.
He's told many different stories (as has Knox).
At least that story would explain why he left the apartment so quickly he didn't have time to flush.
I'm joking, UC, I'm joking.
It's not double jeopardy because Italian law doesn't recognize it as double jeopardy.
Why do American citizens think that American law should apply if they're accused of a crime in a foreign country?
Do you think that foreigners accused of committing a crime in the United States should be able to have the law of their native country apply here, rather that U.S. law?
Well you’re just flush with jokes tonight.
“she’s probably one of Obama’s honorary daughters because of her hedonistic life-style”
She may be more interested in hedonism than Christianity. My cousin is pastor of a church in Perugia. He tried to visit her when she went to prison, thinking an American in a foreign prison would welcome a visit from another American, but she refused to see him.
Huh? If you say so...you're creepy
Not that that’s a bad thing.........
This I'll buy. It's usually true in any case.
Nonsense. The killer whose DNA was all over the knife is already serving a prison sentence. He said Knox and the other guy were involved to cope a shorter sentence. He committed the murder all by himself. She told the cops in her initial statement that she saw the killer and the person he killed go in the room together. The lowlife prosecutor would not allow the statement into evidence. This was a kangaroo court of the first degree.
Physical evidence is thin, but what are the chances of implicating an African in Italy when the real killer is African as well ?
Sounds to me like she was muddying the waters.
