Amanda Knox was found guilty of murder today by an Italian court, the latest twist in a murder case that goes back to 2007.
The verdict reached by the two judges and six jurors came after several hours of deliberations at the Florence courthouse.
The judge sentenced Knox to 28 years in prison. Her former Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito and co-defendant was sentenced to 25 years.
Two Italian judges and six jurors began deliberations earlier today. If Knox and her former Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito are found guilty, the court is also expected to pronounce a prison sentence.
The prosecutor has asked for a 26 prison term for the murder for Knox and Sollecito, plus another four years for Knox on a related libel conviction.
This is the fourth time Knox faced a verdict on the 2007 murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher while they were roommates in Perugia, Italy. Knox, now 26, and Sollecito, 29, were convicted in 2009.
After serving four years in prison they were freed in 2011 when an appeals court threw out the murder conviction. But Italy's supreme court ordered another appeals court to rehear the case. Kercher's sister Stephanie and brother Lyle were in the courtroom for the verdict.
Knox, who is sporting a new, short haircut, remained in her hometown of Seattle for the latest trial. Sollecito was in court today earlier today, but was not present for the verdict....

Ah, Sophia Loren. You must be male? LOL
Looks like I came to this thread late but you may want to direct people to an Ann Coulter article with some good info on the first convition.

“This is a very evil women. I hope she serves a long time. Its a shame she connived her way out once. She will kill again, this time in the United States.”
Do you know something nobody else does? I don’t want you on my jury, that’s for sure. Are you an Italian prosecutor?
Like I told a friend of mine once: Don't ever appear on TV in an orange jumpsuit.
Had to do a search on why she was aquitted. Found the following:
“Forensics may have played a bigger role than rhetoric in the court’s verdict. Much of the appeal revolved around whether the DNA on two key pieces of evidence were credible.
Two court appointed experts looked at the prosecution’s evidence and delivered a damning assessment that the manner in which the DNA was collected, stored and analyzed was below international standards.
One involved the alleged murder weapon, a knife found in Sollecito’s kitchen. Prosecutors claimed the handled contained Knox’s DNA and a speck on the blade contained Kercher’s DNA. But the experts said the speck was too small to make a second test to confirm the analysis and the experts concluded that DNA came from bread.
The second piece of evidence was allegedly Sollecito’s DNA on the bra clasp cut from Kercher’s bra during the attack. The experts said it was improperly handled and likely had been contaminated.”
BTW - the bra clasp had been picked up by the police at least once, and then dropped back on the ground during the investigation! It was found during another sweep of the apartment 30+ days later. I imagine that would have been plenty of time to mix with dead skin, etc. that roam our floors.
I thought that the goofy ideas of the prosecutor were also part of the acquittal, but perhaps not. He had a pet theme of Satanic Sex Rituals that he had tried on previous cases, as well as this case (but no evidence). He was convicted of missuse of power for illegal investigations, but he is STILL a prosecuter! He was being investigated on these charges while he was prosecuting the Knox case.
You're citing the writings of a hamburger deficient broad whose only sources of information are what she garnered from the MSM over the course of that trial? Give me a fricken break........!
Coulter has become nothing more than an attention whore and is no more qualified to rule on the Amanda Knox case than you or I.
Citing her as a source of truth and justice is an embarrassment........
I’ll have drinks with her and she can have a crack at me.
She won’t want to of course.
As for justice in Perugia...the Perugians put St. Francis in prison. Of course that was a long time ago.
She is not guilty. You need to research the case more.
Oh please, stop with the projection...........
I'm not saying Knox is guilty, but do you mean things like the five drops of mixed Knox/Kercher blood in the bathroom, or the size 37 foot prints on the carpet revealed by luminol (37 being Knox's shoe size, and not Guede's), or Knox's kitchen knife, which matched one of the two knives used to murder Kercher, and which had Knox's DNA on the handle and Kercher's DNA on the blade?
WT!?!??
She was hit before and now she is dressing like it’s the 50’s or she is a nun???
Guilty!!!!
Give her back to Italy.
I don’t believe they ever proved she wasn’t at her boyfriend’s house. I believe they got the boyfriend to recant his testimony that she was at his house.

OMG! She was convicted, then acquitted and then tried again.
But as you pointed out Guede has made many statements that have been proven to be untrue, and probably delivered under prosecutorial duress, including his statement that he sexually assaulted Kerchner when forensics said that there was no sexual assault.
He's not a reliable witness --
Do you have another source???
health willing, we hit that and about 4 more , not sure if we’ll hit a coup .. should be scenic regardless.. looking forward to it.
“No. I know she was guilty.”
So, you were there during the killing? Did you let the Italian courts know that you witnessed this?
My understanding is that they have mortgaged their house and cashed in their retirement to defend Amanda.
