One would think that her CO might have a quiet word with her about how this activity, completely legal though it is,might adversely affect her chances of promotion and might even result in her being transferred to a post a little less civilized than the Seattle area.

She got permission. The Air Force also used Chad Henning, who like this gal graduated from the AFA for recruiting purposes. The Navy used David Robinson, who went on to an NBA Hall of Fame career. Roger Staubach, Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer was a Navy Vietnam vet. Rocky Bleier, the great running back for the Steelers was also a Vietnam vet, wounded in action. I don’t think I can remember a Steeler game when Bleier’s military service was not mentioned. From combat infantry, to cheerleader, it’s all fine for recruiting.........

“Before taking on the demanding double life, she first had to convince her military higher-ups in a formal presentation to let her moonlight as a Sea Gal after trying out for the squad last year, she said.

“I told them it’s good for recruitment. It shows that the Air Force is well-rounded, that we can do other things, too. It’s great for women recruits to know that,” said Quaco.

“Ultimately, they ended up agreeing.”
