Remember the Fly off the Steel Cage from some ungodly height in the Wrestlemania? that was an athletic feat. how many backyard injuries were a result of attempting to duplicate it?
I remember that. Amazing! I think he was wrestling Magnificent Don Muraco. Of course the other memory was when Roddy Piper smashed his head with a coconut during Piper’s Pit.
I remember that leap - amazing! I saw him wrestle on a local card in Asbury Park NJ at the end of his career. He was wrestling for the AWA shortly before they folded. He was well past his prime at that point. He climbed to the top of the turbuckle, and his opponent (I think it was Colonel DeBeers), who was on the other side of the ring, had to run over to the corner where Snuka was in order to help "sell" his "Superfly" leap to finish the match.
