In 1980, Pennsylvania adopted the ad slogan, “You’ve Got a Friend in Pennsylvania” to boost tourism. Not to be outdone NJ came up with the slogan, “You’ve Got a Friend in Pennsylvania - Go there.”
And Philadelphia’s slogan is “Welcome to Philadelphia - And oh by the way, you suck.”
