"One of the great voices of folk rock..." I hope that is meant as sarcasm! You do know Seeger's history at the Monterrey Folk Festival in 1968?
That's when Bob Dylan had the nerve to break down Monterrey's barrier against electrified music. When Dylan's electrified folk band was performing Seeger was ranting about "cutting the cables." Seeger's party line Stalinist instinct for crushing those who disagree extended beyond politics to music and culture in general.

You are way confused!It was the 1965 Newport Folk Festival that Bob Dylan went electric. Dylan was booed, although there is some dispute as to why. Seeger allegedly made the remarks about cutting the cables because the sound quality was poor.
It would have been foolish to complain about him going electric at the Monterey Pop, which was mostly electric.
