The signs against guns are making a lot of us into criminals (trespassers in most establishments around me), but we'd rather be taken to task to "trespassing" than taken to the morgue for going unarmed into the lion's den....There are usually other choices of establishments, but some can't be avoided.
But it was assault shotgun, probably similar to the kind used by the military, and I’ll bet it was finished in scary looking weapon colors, not pink and green with flowers painted on the stock.
And he'll have a tough time renewing his permit, now. Those MD permits are hard to get, very strict.
The first two headlines on yahoo are Justin Bieber and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Where'd you hear that?
“...but no picture of the killer?”
Didn’t read the whole piece yet, but from the bit posted here it says they haven’t released his name yet, so they are not going to put his picture in the paper before that happens.
Besides, I think they get these pictures from family members (unless the person is well known enough for the paper to have one already), right now they’d have to run a pic of his corpse, they aren’t going to do that, I hope anyway.
Another failure of the school system to properly teach reading. We need more money for education!

Not trying to be crass etc, but that is a far cry from the reports of anywhere from 2-??? gunmen, shots flying from balconies, different levels, updates and dedicating virtually the whole 11PM news to a DOMESTIC DISPUTE that happened in a mall.
Like the man says, jobamabiden suggested ALL get a shotgun, now that the last couple of ‘incidents’ have involved shotguns one would think ‘they’ would at least be suggesting Biden may bear some culpability. (I DON’T BELIEVE THAT) but if say Ted Cruz or Clint Eastwood would go national and say everyone should have a shotgun, these idiots would be trying to have Cruz or Clint be CHARGED with the murders.
Admittedly I do have a measure of paranoia when it comes to the Press and their reporting BUT it appeared to me that ‘they’ were trying to whip people into a frenzy over something that wasn’t.
They’ve released the shooter’s name, Darion Marcus Aguilar. Still no pic. Here is the link:
BTW, I like your screen name, I just noticed it now.
Well, the story was getting some traction late yesterday but has since been dropped like a hot potatoe.
I’m glad the shooter killed himself. He should have done that much sooner.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Maybe cause the name of the shooter is Darian Marcus Aguilar, something like that.
Prayers for the two victims and their families. I don’t know how I would handle loosing any of my kids that way and at such a young age. The young lady that was killed also has a two year old that is now without his mother.
You can tell yesterday the media was foaming at the mouth “What kind of weapon was it” they kept on repeating at the news conference..as soon as you heard “Shotgun” you could hear the air being sucked out of the media’s Commmie traps, you could tell they were disappointed, they wished it had been an AR-15

From cousins email, " Lisa said that the swat team got to her store after 3 p.m. and banged on the store doors. The manager on duty came out of the stock room holding up the key to open the doors. 6 customers & other saleswomen followed. They would not let her open the door with the key and broke the doors down & told the manager to lay on the floor and they held a gun over her. The other people had guns held on them as they were all escourted out of the mall building. This apparently happened to all the stores throughout the mall....all 210 of them! The shooters body is still there and a robot is being sent in to be sure his body isn't armed. I hear they flew a bomb sniffing dog in from Ocean City as well. The Mall is closed tomorrow. 2 days of financial loss for all the stores!
Ghastly overreaction by police, destroying property and horrifying the townspeople with guns instead of, for instance, quickly photographing everyone's ID and setting up portable metal detectors and making them file through...
When this happened in Kenya recently and was not domestic incident but a wider-spread incident of terrorism, the DailyMail ran pictures a few days later of the stores badly looted, especially the electronic stores. By whom? The (Kenyan) police and national guard, who were the only ones with access once the shooting started and ended.
The lesson for me is, if I'm ever in this situation and have any means whatsoever of getting outside the mall instead of going into safe rooms, I'm going to try to get out.
RIP.
This may have been an over-reaction by the po-po, but I watched an active shooter training presentation for work, and one of the things the speaker emphasized was that the cops will not have time for niceties while trying to get as many people out unharmed as possible. They may yell at you, manhandle you, even put you in cuffs, as the situation is resolved.
FWIW.

...I have worked in the prisons and with gang and drug related professionals.. Columbia does have a lot of drug related hard core gang activity that is unknown to many.... those released from prisons often do stay and live in the areas surrounding the prisons. I do know what Im talking about. It's a big problem in Columbia.
