I know all about Jaywalking and the law. The point I am making is that this story keeps getting posted here by cop haters over and over again and changed from a scrape to the forehead to a beating by the police which did not happen.
This is N.Y.! There is always a power play going on between newspapers, police, unions, etc, so a old man falling down becomes ‘a savage beating’ or something.
I personally have the NYPD to be most gracious....if you’re not a New Yorker. On one of my visits to the city I was driving around lost trying to find an address in the Bronx when a cop pulled me over. I explained my problem and he said, “Follow me”, and took me right to the address.
I was an outsider and not part of the constant war going on.
Yeah, the cop haters will call a fall to the pavement a beat down or something and the police will continue to feed the fires. It’s been that way a long time.
