I have a keypad for my house door lock. I have looked into the wireless lock... it intrigues me. And the ability to turn lights off and on by logging into a site.

True this. Read a story somewhere about how offices being designed today are done so with wireless as the primary connection method. Thousands of feet of wiring, labor involved in the wiring, physical engineering considerations to route the wiring.....poof. All gone. Wireless networks replace them all at a fraction of the cost.
I connect via cell signal and WiFi via cell signal and my service and capacity are only getting better. I live in a semi-rural area around DFW and my speeds have increased about 50% in the last year.
