So what did Richard Sherman say to Michael Crabtree? Now we know thanks to Sound FX

"Race played a major part in how my behavior was received...Maybe if I looked more acceptable in conservative circles, my rant would have been understood as passion. These prejudices still play a factor in our views."
Acting like an asshat is why people responded the way they did. Sherman also had the nerve to say that "the word 'thug' is the accepted way of calling somebody the N-word nowadays." Bill Laimbeer, Keith Hernandez, Lenny Dykstra were all athletes who acted like thugs. But I don't remember them blaming criticism of their behavior on racism.
Yeah, I don’t know if either one is a thug or whatever. The general jerkitdude in the NFL on the field is what turns me off, the self-congratulatory posturing and chest thumping after even marginally successful plays. It’s a league full of players who can’t police themselves, a result of the rules, in my opinion. The most the NFL can do is pass lame anti-celebration rules suitable for a class of 5 year olds, the players couldn’t do anything to the jerks if they did care, and the majority of fans at least seem to eagerly eat it up in any case.
