The repetition of a catch phrase until it's "threadbare" can be seen over and over again in commercials.
Likewise, calling an unborn baby a "fetus" eventually gets people to think abortion is not murder. Ditto for calling Jews, Gypsies and such "untermenschen" (under men) in Hitler's Germany.
