It's called a "Yoopercycle."
How could you hit anything that hard and not realize it and go home without surveying the damage. I don't drink but it would be difficult for me to imagine driving a car if I was that impaired, from alcohol, prescription drugs or anything.
Black lady in N Texas struck a pedestrian. It did not kill him and he was stuck in the windshield. She parked the car in her garage and even checked on him several times the next few days.
I remember the story. The guy was still alive when they left the garage. He would have lived if they had gotten help for him. Tragic.
I have been hit three times by cars...while running along the shoulder of paved roads.
Forty some years ago, I was a long-distance runner and would sometimes have to train on the shoulder of a road. Once, the passenger-side mirror of a car hit my upper arm and knocked me off my feet into a ditch. Escaped with a bruised arm and some scrapes from falling into the ditch. The other two times I was barely bumped and grazed, resulting in torn t-shirts from getting caught on the trim of the cars. But each time, the drivers never stopped or even realized that they had hit me.
I was young and invincible back then. In hindsight, I realize how lucky I was that I wasn’t killed in these incidents. But I live to tell the tales....
I put the links in my post above. He died. She knew he was there.
Did the driver get a piece of brain lodged in his head?
Bicycle Idiots... On a bicycle on a Saturday night with just enough flashing light and color to blend in with everything around you. Even 3/4's of the sober people out at night aren't going to see you until they're on top of you. You'd probably be seen better if you were just a dark mass passing in front of the lights around you.
Well, I was legal and totally have every RIGHT to be out on the street on my bicycle on a Saturday night!
Yeah... but that doesn't mean you're not an idiot.
The driver was on Ecstasy and she left the injured guy in her garage for hours, in I recall correctly.

Another case with male driver:

If I were a prosecutor, I'd be filing charges for attempted murder.
The driver hit the cyclist, LEFT the cyclist in his windshield, and went into his house. If the cyclist hadn't been able to extract himself and get help by himself, he would have died.
At least charge him with hit-and-run.
Yes, you remember correctly, except the man was not dead. She left him stuck in the windshield for days, dying in her garage.

Well I guess the old bat (me) still has a few functioning brain cells! :)
Law and Order did a story on this, only they made the driver white. Having known the real story,I couldn’t help but laugh at what L & O saying their stories are drawn from real situations..
I hear you. Kind of like you come back several hours later (like this is) and realize the reply you typed is still on the screen in another window and has not posted. DUH.
This was not my original reply. Matter of fact, I think I just wanted to say thanks. Who knows my intent other than the Lord above.
