I am looking for a 45 Short Colt
That would be the .45 Schofield. Slightly shorter than the .45LC and the reason the Cavalry went with the Colt instead of the S&W Schofield. The Colt fired both cartridges but the .45LC was too long for the S&W cylinder. There were some instances of troopers being issued Schofields and .45LC ammo. The S&W was the better gun, but with so much .45LC ammunition already on hand the Army stuck with the Colt Single Action Army.
