Calling something groovy in 1980 would get you laughed at Nope. Calling something something in 1970 that was designed to represent the idea of 1980 "groovy" is entirely correct and apropos. And looking back from 2014, yes, the 1980 envisioned by Gerry Anderson is groovy.
