Red Storm Rising was my favorite Clancy novel: Oh for the days when America had great purpose and was on the right side
Red October wasn’t my favorite; but it was the first, and what a first! I’ve read spy/war novels for nearly 50 years, and this, when it came out, topped them all. And it was pristine—no situations, no language I couldn’t read aloud if I had to. Heck, there wasn’t a single female in 400+ pages.
