Dobes are very family oriented and HAVE to be around their people. They are also very protective. Mine thinks he is a lapdog.

Shoot him, and and receive the same fate.

I don’t know about that. I have 4 dogs, biggest one a 80 pound hound dog, smallest one a 15 pound blind JRT. The only of the 4 that would bite you is the 15 pound blind one. He would jump up and nip your pants and a cop would probably blow him away.
