And that will be her undoing. We are very far removed from the days of self-sufficiency. The government MUST have their pound of flesh to allow you to live on your property.
God speed to this woman.
Now the property appraiser and code enforcement knows about it.
I read the entire article. There is no mention of building permits, EPA inspections, or zoning waivers. And what's worse, she did not use federal grant money to do pay for it all!
That lady is obviously some sort of anti-government troublemaker. Could be one of those Tea Party types I've been reading about.
Have you ever seen the TV show, "Treehouse Masters"? This contractor custom builds amazing treehouses for clients all over the US. These often are party pads with plumbing, kitchens, etc. Some of these are in rural locations, but many of these structures are in cities.
NEVER does the show ever refer to a building inspector. I'm waiting for the city inspectors to show up and declare the structures illegal and force the owners to tear them down. There are substantial investments in these dwellings.
As much as I'd like a treehouse, I'd never build one on my property. Every spring in Wisconsin, I lose 2, or 3, trees to the weather. Often there is no warning. My house is 50+ years old, and I've noticed that that is when the trees start falling, although I have neighbors who have lost trees at a younger age. My friend lived in a house in the woods that is 80+ years old. She even lost oaks annually. Provided an endless supply of firewood.
No Permit? She’ll probably be ordered to pay to have it torn down and hauled away before the year is done.
Yup...did she get a building permit for that?
did she have the requisite inspections?
If that answer is “no” to both questions they will make her take it down.
She'll be getting a visit soon. "Your paperz, pleez."
No way the government will allow itself being under its own siege while we prosper.
yep...now the building inspectors, fire inspectors and zoning people will decend on her.
Tax....fine and tear it down. BTW.....next time use union contractors. Sure, it will cost a kings ransom and take 1 year, but then maybe you will be ok.
