There are more than a few that have described me that way. But I am half Sicilian and it is my family name. There is a rumor that we are shirt tail relations to the Sicilian author Giovanni Verga. I prefer to say that we are either one of the illegitimate offspring, or one of the salve families that were owned by other members of the family.
