“BTW, Im looking over closing arguments and am seeing one of the police trainers saying that the police used the usual techniques.”
Personally, this is what I find most disturbing, that they would consider beating someone to death “usual techniques”. This was totally unnecessary.
I believe that his parents are still alive.
"And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?"
I do NOT think 2nd degree murder charges are forthcoming.
“This entire town was in an uproar over this case. Councilmen were ousted, the mayor and chief of police fired, 3 officers terminated. And the judge didnt let the jury know any of these facts. They should have allowed the police records opened to see the light of day. But this is how government runs today, from city hall to Washington DC. Complete secrecy and no accountability whatsoever.”
I thought this was particularly egregarious, since Kelly Thomas’ past was continuously introduced to the court. Why not the people that killed him? They are public servants, are they not?
They even beat (pardon the pun) Involuntary Manslaughter.
I have not followed the case, so I can’t judge. Just stating what I heard on KFI, the former LA based Radio Station of Rush Limbaugh.
“It says ‘Ramos faces an additional count of 2nd degree murder’. Perhaps you can translate.”
Sure, I can translate. That article you cite is dated December 11th and it’s wrong.
Today, January 13th, Ramos was found not guilty of one count of manslaughter and not guilty of one count of 2nd degree murder.
That’s not guilty on both counts.
See post 44
sure they do
A 2nd degree murder charge was part of this trial. Ramos was charged with manslaughter and with 2nd degree murder. He was found not guilty on both charges:
“Ramos was facing second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter charges, and Cicinelli was charged with involuntary manslaughter and excessive use of force under the color of authority.”
See post 44
“Also, in closing arguments, it is shown that Thomas never stops fighting and resisting arrest.”
Are you aware that the blanket charge thrown at almost EVERYONE, in an arrest situation is “RESISTING ARREST”? Its usually a bogus throwaway charge, to get a person for *something*. If you so much as flinch in surprise, and pull away from an officer when they grab your arms, its “ resisting arrest.”
Try to not fight back when someone is smashing your face in. Natural survival instincts kick in, and you'll be flailing about to save your life too.
Why did Kelly Thomas’s own mother testify she took out a restraining order against him wen he tried to keep her from breathing.
Why did his grandfather testify that Kelly took a poker to him?
are you one of those people who think he was this guy in a cute little cowboy hat?
I read several articles about this case a few months ago. Once phrase haunted me for a long time, “The last words uttered by Thomas were, ‘Daddy, Help Daddy!’”. After seeing his pictures, that tore me apart. How anyone could do that to another human being is beyond my understanding,
You need to source your material.
“RESISTING ARREST CHARGE IS TURNING OUR COUNTRY INTO A POLICE STATE”

As the father of a daughter with schizophrenia, I’m well aware of the mental illness. Are you one of these badge polishers who thinks 6 officers with a combined weight of 1,500 lbs are incapable of subduing a 135 lb skinny little mentally ill person without having to smash his face in?

Watch the unedited video and you can hear Thomas begging for his life as he is beaten to death:
