Mr. Stein
ably sums up the diminution of showing proper respect for individuals and the corrupt billing system. Does anyone think his insurance would have been billed this way if he hadn't spoken up? I have had this discussion with colleagues multiple times over the past 10 years about what is polite and what is degrading as far as addressing someone in a familiar way. They all claim I am old-fashioned and I say no, I am courteous and that never goes out of style. /soapbox
wow that was quite an indictment. what a scumbag that doc is, and i am sure that goes on all the time. recall i went through the first name biz with xsbaby’s HS teachers. most egregiously, the potheaded ditz who was her english teacher. it is a generational thing. my friend maia and i have talked about this, she’s 20 years younger than i am. her parents were hippies, and her friends called them by their first names and she called her friends parents by their first names.
