Horror on the red carpet as Golden Globes entrance flooded with SEWAGE ...

as stars begin to arrive for annual awards ceremony

It was a mad dash to scrub the red carpet ahead of Sunday's Golden Globes after a pipe burst, spewing liquid some say smelled of sewage across the pathway for the stars.

Black water gushed onto horrified members of the international press awaiting the arrival of Hollywood glitziest stars dressed in their finest gala attire.

The press fled from the spill as the Beverly Hills Fire Department rushed to the scene to clean up the smelly mess in front of Hollywood's famous Beverly Hilton Hotel.

An E! Television red carpet correspondent was among the disgusted press members who witnessed the unprecedented sullying of one of the world's most anticipated celebrity events.

'A pipe has appeared to totally bust and there is water gushing, literally everywhere in the position of where all of the international press – everyone has moved out of the way,' said Catt Sadler. 'Rain was not expected in LA today, but we've got a little flooding!'

The flooding was apparently more like a malodorous deluge.

'Sewage pipe break on red carpet at #GoldenGlobes so it’s not hot as s**t but it could smell like it today. Good times,' tweeted Access Hollywood's Billy Bush just after the disaster....

According to KABC, the gusher began when a lighting rig overheated, setting off a sprinkler, which rained the fluid down onto the crimson walkway.

But eye witnesses said the water smelled of sewage, suggesting there was more to the story than simply a fire system set off by accident.

'We can confirm that there was a malfunction with a sprinkler near the red carpet,' read a statement from the posh Beverly Hills Hotel, where the Golden Globes have been held--sewage free--for over 50 years....

Certainly. Thousands of dollars spent on gowns and this happens. Finest cosmic justice.

” it’s getting more and more and more out of control graphic”

Isn’t spewing sewage what Hollywood does these days?

One thing I do know is that I’m no longer even bothering to be interested in going. I can download and the graphic scenes and violence are as if the producers are working out their anger and hate out on the actors and actresses in the film.

As if they LIKE showing people getting hurt in the most graphic way possible.

Yes, for me, it’s the way EVERYTHING is so “amped” up nowadays... the violence, the hyperkinetic editing, the animation, the dramatic scenes, the quick cutting, the heavy pauses, the snarky and cynical asides,... watching such fare has becomes a headache-inducing assault on the sensibilities. And then on top of that, to even add characters and protagonists I find so morally repellent that I develop an active dislike for them!

It makes me crave the relative minimalism of some low-budget, schlocky 50s/60s independent effort with long dialogue scenes; or an old by-the-book Quinn Martin tv-series from the 60s/70s; or some creaky and totally unpretentious little b-western; Might not offer any great aesthetic shakes, in the traditional sense, but I no longer even care about such things. They’ve been squeezed out of me, at this point in my life. I’m more interested in reveling in fare that exudes the worldview and mindset of America when it was a truly great nation.

These days it’s all about youth; there are roles that should be going to older actresses and I am sick of blonde blonde blonde and tanned looks in pretty much every single role.

As for the cynical asides, it’s not cynical, it’s hateful. I do know that the Nineties and Eighties were the last decades where the movies were good and enjoyable and fairly clean.

Tell me about it.

Talent isn’t rewarded when it should be and the academy members are not rewarding talented performances.

Jon Voight won. Kudos to a wise choice. Just like when jon Cryer won an emmy in 2012. Bith are conservative/republican actors.

The Golden Globes are a total joke. As opposed to the Oscars , they have no credibility at all.

The Golden Globes are a total joke.

And yet the smallest things from last night are all over each of the networks this morning.

The real joke is that the Sewage Spill on the Red Carpet never even made the news on any of the networks even though it threatened the whole event.

It didn't even get a slight mention on any of them from anybody.

It was quite telling by its absence

It should have won an award atleast for that.

It’s more of a fashion/spectacle event. The Oscars at least make an effort to celebrate/educate about film but not this thing.

I sense a SNL skit coming soon if not a movie made for tv:

Horror on the Red Carpet: Terror from Above
