What a hilarious statement.

A perfect illustration of the "No true Scotsman" logical fallacy.

I wasn’t trying to make a logical argument.

What I was trying to say is when we are saved, we are sealed by God and indwelt with His holy spirit. We may wander away from time to time, which will grieve the Spirit, but the Spirit still lives in us.

I’m not sure, but it may be possible for a person to willingly give up his salvation. But God has promised us he will keep us until the end.

If we can wander away with no consequences, then the Spirit was never in us, otherwise He would be grieved and we would know it.

Ephesians 4:30 And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.

Hey, you got in there before I did! My instant thought was, “Why, that’s perfect! It’s the ‘No True Scotsman’ fallacy!”
