Debating this on another forum... What do you all think?
Prior to her infamy, was Tonya Harding not the best skater in the world?
Didn’t say she was evil. She “lacks grace.” As do most ladies with the word “Lot” in their address.
I always had a soft spot for Tonya, because she tried hard to escape the sewer she was born into and got pretty far before the grifters around her pulled her back down into it.
She never did straighten up did she?
“She’s redeemed herself over the years”
Are you sure about that?
Powerful skater, too bad she threw it away. I imagine the USFSA’ s lifetime ban on competing or coaching is harder on her than a prison term would have been.
She must have “redeemed” herself in the past 6 years apparently

On March 11, 2007, the Clark County sheriff’s office responded to two calls related to her.[61] The first call was from Harding, at 5 a.m. She told the officer who responded that she had observed five armed intruders trying to steal her vehicle and hide rifles on her property. The responding officer’s report described her as “agitated” and her story as “very implausible,” and recorded her frustration that others could not see the people she saw. He could find no evidence to back up her claims. The second call, four hours later, at 9 a.m., was from a friend who had agreed to let her visit. Her host told police that although she was not violent, she was “tweaking out, seeing animals,” and she was worried about her children’s safety. She requested police return her to her home. Police reported that the officer who returned to her home inspected her house, to reassure her, and advised her to seek medical help. Linda Lewis, her longtime agent, attributed her behavior to a bad reaction to legitimate prescription drugs.
I guess sometimes you really can’t get the trailer park out of the girl
Didn’t she go into womens boxing?
Which IMO is far more admirable than (fake) wrestling.
Her skating was good athletically, but lacked a certain gracefulness and beauty.
Didn’t she film her first wedding night as a sex video thing? Or was that some other skater?
Power yes, finesse not so much.
3 wins, 3 losses, no draws
Perfect example of why meth should be legal. /s
To me the attack was a turning point. It represented the dawning of a new era. There was really something wrong when a woman would resort to these tactics especially in a sport like olympic figure skating. And then what followed in short order but OJ killing Nicole and then the OK City bombing. I guess it dawned on me then that we weren’t in Kansas anymore.
You think that was the first time a woman sicced a man on another woman?
So it WAS boxing then, Geron?
Yes, after she had appeared on FOX’s “Celebrity Boxing” she tried it for reals
Like where and when and who.
Oh, thanks I couldn’t recall all that.
I think she tried, but didn’t have much chance of success due to the baggage she carried.
