If understand your post you had private insurance, perhaps through an employer, not a policy obtained through the Obamacare website. Those who managed to get a "qualifying" policy through the Obamacare website may not have such a good experience and may find they have no coverage, can't be treated at the hospital of their choice etc.

I also had chest pain last February that similarly caused me to go to the hospital ER. My private health care plan through my wife's employer paid almost 90% of the nearly $12,000 bill which included an overnight hospital stay and stress test in addition to my ER visit.
