Personally. I've been hit on by men and gorgeous woman my whole life and I have never been unkind or ungrateful. It is a compliment and although at times frustrating, it is an opportunity to make a new friend and be kind and loving about their compliment to you. Then wish them well and move on.
Most people understand at that point it ain't happenin' and will continue on with a friendship and you can enjoy having a new friend and admirer er.
