Vanity: need WINDOWS 7 HELP on sound driver and picture preview in Win Explorer

Okay, I need some expertise here My sound driver keeps cutting out, videos wont play, sound wont work once it starts

videos play 2 or 3 seconds and stop, if I click on the position icon on the progress bar, they begin again but stop, no sound

Also, my picture preview in Windows Explorer has stopped working

rebooting doesn't change the picture preview, but the sound driver seems to come back on sometimes

When I shut down, my windows exit sound usually comes back on, too

it plays fine at first, it is something that loses, goes away

The last couple days, it works mostly, but if I go into screen saver, it seems that is the only common thing that makes sound disappear or video stop running

most times, sound comes back when closing down, the final wav files plays

I did update FLASH player last night, so, I need to leave the computer on during church, see if anythign is changed

I did a scandisk, a defrag the night before I posted this, but did the scan disk after I posted it, did a registry clean...again...

it still happened after the standard troubleshooting efforts, but a new flashplayer install is the only actual new thing, waiting on that to see :)

I don't think it's virus/malware related, but just in case, have you run your anti-virus program?
I also swear by the free anti-malware ... Malwarebytes sw.

yes, I have been doing those

I just got back from Church and so far, all videos and sou nd work fine

the only thing new that I didnt already have been doing is a new install of FLASH :)
