Whoa, you forgot the '00s and '10s. In fact, with the American culture in constant decline over the last 40-50 years, they're worse than the decades that preceded them.

I apologized numerous times to my son, growing up in the 90’s, for the lack of sweet, romantic songs. I told him that music was lovely when I was growing up in the 60’s and I wished he could have those types of songs, too. He does revere the Beatles and Beach Boys, not as role models but for their lovely songs. Now Jay-Z and other Rap artists have destroyed the ‘lovely’ in teen music. More's the pity.
