Canned chicken is likely a throwback to the days when you couldn’t get certain meats year round. It looks like it would be just fine for stews or soup, or out on the camp trail.

As long as we're showing pics of...interesting tinned foods...here's the entrees from a Russian MRE!

For the curious: the big round can is Tushonka (stewed/braised pork or beef, beef in this case), the small round can is a type of meat spread, possibly liver-based. The square tins are (I think) ground beef and kasha, and either ground beef or ground pork and rice. Don't ask me which is which, LOL.
