0 here and its time to go to work.
I left for work in the snow yesterday at -8, thinking “I hope everybody else had enough sense to stay home so there won’t be any traffic.”
While living in No. Wisconsin I have memories and photos of our outside thermometer showing -58, -59 and -60 below zero F back in the late 70’s. We had a hot water heating system with pipes running thru the entire house. Pipes froze and broke INSIDE the house due to the extreme cold. You DO NOT want to experience anything like that.
When the temp gets down to -40 F, it’s just plain DAMN COLD.
It’s -20 here this AM.
I’ve worked in cold worse than this outside all day. You know when you pee outside at -45F it freezes before it hits the ground.
