What Type of Person Does This?

Posted on 01/06/2014 10:02:58 PM PST by GreyHoundSailor

To the human scum who discarded your scared, emaciated, beautiful female dog on a back road in the middle of winter: I discovered her this afternoon and carried her into our house, placing her on a blanket near our wood stove. She drank some water and ate a bit of food, thumped her huge bushy tail on the floor a few times while I stroked her head, curled up and fell asleep. Her huge sad eyes told me she'd probably never heard a kind word in her short life. Two hours later she was gone. We would have gladly adopted her if you'd had the courage to knock on our door to tell us you didn't want her anymore. I'm disgusted to think you oxygen thieves live somewhere close to me.

As you can see from this picture, Lynn-Dah, Les (on the left) and I eventually did find a place to live.

I’m sorry you and the dog had to go through that nightmare.

We have picked both of our dogs up out of the neighborhood in the middle of winter. One chihuahua and one Beagle with a crippled back leg. Both abandoned and running around the street freezing. Mr. GG2 and I reflected the other night that we could not have gotten 2 better dogs if we had gone and picked them out.

Uh oh, something’s wrong with my eyes. Is “Les” a dolphin? And does Lynn-Dah look more lab than chow? I’ve never seen that blend before. She looks like our dog, Bella, a female black lab.

Les is the Guitar.

A lot of “Senior” Housing frowns on rock Musicians and bikers as well as dog lovers! (I am a perfect trifecta)

If you could see Lynn-Dah’s TONGUE, you would see the Chow!

(Black as the rest of her, LOL!)

I’m sure she probably was — esp. considering the cold weather. Yes, animals can run off to die, but dollars to donuts that’s not what happened in this case. (Most times it’s not.) Doubting seriously the knuckle-dragging Neanderthals who dumped her gave her a second thought. No doubt in my mind God will give THEM a second thought, though. May it fall back on their heads three-fold. Bless you for what you did for this poor baby.

I truly thank you for sharing this and can assure you I’ll never forget it. When I returned from the store with a couple different types of wet and dry dog food, her big bushy tail thumped the floor several times when she saw me. That will stick with me forever.

I was cruel enough to tell her she probably painfully killed her trusting cat, and there were myriad things she could have done other than that.

Glad you told her. Someone needed to. (And toxiplasmosis is not the bugaboo the public has been led to believe it to be.) But then, if you really don’t want your animal anymore, any excuse will suffice.

Me, too — but I include cats as well. People can be unbelievably cruel.

Yes all animals. I grew up with a dad that fed rabbits, squirels, and anything that moved. Lived and grew up where animals, all of them were treated like one of the family!

I have a friend who did the same thing with her old dog. She had some fantasy in her head that the dog would find a house and be taken in and loved. My feelings for her as a friend really took a hit after that. More likely the dog would either die of neglect or be killed and eaten by coyotes.

Sorry to hear about the dog; hopefully the dog merely slipped the house/yard to go off and pass away peacefully.

Thank you for providing the dog with comfort during it’s last moments.

Every so often my dog jumps (he is big) up wraps his paws around me ,just like a hug, and kisses me (a wet sloppy kiss)...I couldn’t love anyone or anything as much as I love my dog in those moments

What is it with the current sub-culture that wants to believe the every dog they see is being abused? It’s usually followed by a self righteous “I saved this animal” story.
