I wouldn’t be so quick to assume that the clothing was stolen - cardiac resuscitation attempts can get pretty massy - torn clothing, bodily fluids, etc. It wouldn’t be surprising if the clothing was destroyed in the process.
The check, on the other hand....
I think he was basically dead when he hit the floor of the bank. So we both were pretty sure that he was stripped by thieves of EMTs and hospital personnel of his expensive clothing. That is why I'd always call Hatzolah, the volunteer EMT corp that is supported by contributions from the Orthodox Jewish community vs. the city EMTs. Yeah, the city EMTs who refused to treat a pregnant asthma patient choking on the floor of a restaurant because they were "on their break".
